Expressions of Interest: Townsville Community Panels on Reef Restoration and Adaptation Interventions

Reef Trust Partnership

This opportunity is now closed

The Reef Restoration and Adaptation Program is now establishing community panels across the Great Barrier Reef regions. These panels explore a new way of involving community members in a longer-term and deeper discussion with scientists and reef managers about proposed reef interventions. The panels seek to draw on diverse community perspectives and aspirations for the Reef and its management.

The Reef Restoration and Adaptation Program is a multidisciplinary collaboration between lead universities and research agencies, working together to research, develop and deploy a toolkit of novel interventions to help our Reef resist and adapt to the impacts of climate change.

If proven safe and effective at scale, these technologies will underpin a new reef restoration and adaptation industry across the length of the Great Barrier Reef, likely requiring dedicated infrastructure and creating a range of career opportunities on land and water.
