Margot Andersen

Margot is an experienced not for profit executive with more than a decade in fundraising and strategic management. She leads the development of Australia’s largest environmental fundraising campaign with the ambitious target of raising an additional $300 – $400 million to amplify the Australian Government’s landmark investment in Reef protection in partnership with the Foundation. Margot heads the dedicated fundraising, communication and marketing team focussed on implementing this large-scale program to raise much needed funds and awareness to protect and restore the Great Barrier Reef.
Before joining the Foundation, she was part of the executive leadership team at Queensland Museum that drove an ambitious program of gallery renewal and revitalised visitor experiences, positioning Queensland Museum as the most visited museum in Australia. For over eight years Margot was responsible for raising significant funding across the corporate, philanthropic and government sectors as Director of the Queensland Museum Foundation. Previously she held key roles with RSPCA Queensland and Fairfax Media.
