Stephen Fitzgerald AO

Stephen is the Chair of Fauna and Flora (UK) and a member of the British Museum Investment Sub-Committee. He has as over 35 years’ experience in funds management.

He was the Founding Partner of Affirmative Investment Management (AIM), the world’s first dedicated green and impact bond fund management company. MetLife of New York acquired AIM in 2022. He remains an advisor to MetLife on sustainable investments. Previously, Stephen was CEO and then Chairman of Goldman Sachs, Australia and New Zealand, having joined the firm in 1992 and became a Partner in 2002. He worked in London, Tokyo, Hong Kong and Sydney with Goldman Sachs.

Stephen previously served on the board of Lombard Odier Investment Management and is a former member of the Board of Guardians of the Future Fund. He also served on the board of the National Centre for Indigenous Excellence ,was a board member of the Champions of Change Coalition and served on the main board of QBE Insurance Group for seven years, chairing the Investment Committee and the People and Remuneration Committee.
