Larissa Hale

Larissa Hale is a proud Jalunji Warra woman from Yuku Baja Muliku, Cape York, Queensland. She is the Co-Founder and Managing Director of the Queensland Indigenous Women’s Ranger Network and the Yuku Baja Muliku Landowner & Reserves Ltd. She holds multiple positions with the Great Barrier Reef Foundation as a Board Member, Chair of the Traditional Owner Advisory Group and Member of the Partnership Management Committee. Instrumental in founding the Yuku Baja Muliku Indigenous Land & Sea Ranger Program, The Archer Point Turtle Hospital and the YBM Junior Ranger Program and a previous Councillor with the Cook Shire is dedicated to the environment, the Reef and her culture. Larissa has long fought for Traditional Knowledge to sit alongside Western science in Reef protection efforts and advocates for women looking after Country. This has been recognised by winning the Prince William run Earthshot Prize Revive our Oceans Category in 2022 and the 2023 Women in Technology Awards.
